Course Summary

This course is designed to teach you the fundamentals of creating and running Motion studies for your SOLIDWORKS models, from simple animations to dynamic motion analyses. You will learn what Motion is and what you can do with it, the basic concepts involved in a motion study, how to define contact & friction, CAM integration, motion optimization, and how Motion integrates with SOLIDWORKS Simulation.

What you’ll learn
By the end of this course, you will be able to create powerfull simulations and animations of machines and mechanisms. we will work on 10 projects of different mechanical architectures to give you full mastery on Solidworks Motion. You will learn exactly how to prepare your assemblies for simulation, how to apply motion elements such as motors, gravity, physical contact, external forces and most importantly how to extract accurate engineering data from your simulations. You will be able, among other things, to determine the power consumption and torque necessaries for your mechanism to work properly.
The course covers a number of differente mechanisms and the list will grow bigger in time as I add new videos. We will simulate the motion of the following mechanisms
Crank Shaft Belt Driven Linear Actuator Disk Cam Application Cartesian Manipulator – Rack and Pinion Geneva Wheel Barrel Cam – Linear Applicaton Barrel Cam – Angular Application Spring Animation Walkthrought – 2 Differente Methods
You will learn everything you need in order to create powerful, precise and compelling motion studies. Trhough mechanism simulation you will be able to make sure your designs will work in the way you want them to work before building expensive prototypes. Besides that, motion simulation enables you to explain concepts with ease, determine engineeging results and so much more.
